City Gym

The Bluffton Parks Department oversees a municipal gym facility located inside City Hall, 128 E Market Street, Bluffton, IN 46714. The facility includes a large gymnasium, fitness room, locker rooms, racquetball court, and saunas. View the City Gym Photo Tour (PDF) for an online look at the available facilities.

Open Gym Activities

The City Gym hosts a supervised, open gym usage of the facility for students in grades K through 12 from November through mid-March. 

Open Gym Information:

  • Days:  Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays
  • Who:  kids, grades K through 12
  • Participants must pre-register with the Parks Department office by either completing an Online Open Gym Registration Form or printing and submitting a Bluffton City Gym - Open Gym Registration Form (PDF) to the Parks Office.
  • This is a FREE event!
  • Open Gym will be canceled if Bluffton Schools close due to bad weather
  • Basketballs and other equipment are provided
  • No baseballs, roller skates/roller blades, or skateboards are allowed on the gym floor
  • Open gym hours are for students only, no adults.  This is a special time set aside for children, and adult members may not be on the gym floor. Members may still use the weight room, locker room & racquetball court.

City Gym Membership

Full admission to and use of the City Gym facilities requires a membership and City Gym Key. Memberships must be purchased and renewed annually from the Parks Department office.

*Note: Membership to the Bluffton City Gym is a privilege that may be revoked at any time by the Park Board or Parks Department Employees for disregard of the City Gym rules and guidelines or for displaying inappropriate behavior. No refunds will be given.

Gym Rental

The Bluffton City Gym can also be rented for private events. Cost is $25 per hour. To rent, contact the Parks Department Office at 260-824-6069 and complete the Rental Application Form (PDF).

Gym Rules

  • Family Gym Memberships can be purchased to include married spouses and minor (IRS dependent) children in the same household. Exceptions in the case of split families may be made. College-enrolled children still supported by their parents are included in this membership. However, any other household residents ages 18 and above MUST purchase their own key. Gym keys included in Family Gym Memberships are to be used by members only and may not be given to anyone else. If you have questions, contact the Park Department Office by phone or email. 
  • Single Gym Memberships can be purchased for individuals. Persons who purchase the Single Gym Membership cannot bring in guests or other family members, or allow others to use their keys, including spouses, children, or other family members.
  • All facilities are to be used at your own risk.
  • The gym hours are from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm. There are to be no activities past 11:00 pm without prior approval by the Park Board.
  • Open gym hours are for students only, no adults.  This is a special time set aside for children, and adult members may not be on the gym floor. Members may still use the weight room, locker room & racquetball court.
  • If no other members are present when you finish using the gym facilities, turn out all lights except those in the stairwell and secure the doors as you leave.
  • Family members under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult in this facility. Family members ages 14 to 17 require an adult present to use the weight room. Children under the age of 14 are not allowed in the weight room.
  • No one under the age of 18 may use the saunas.
  • Treat the facility with respect.
  • No weapons are allowed in or around the facility.
  • No alcohol, illegal drugs, or smoking allowed in or around the gym facilities. Anyone caught using these items, or engaging in inappropriate behavior in the gym or other gym-associated facilities, will have their membership revoked.
  • Immediately notify the gym supervisor if you observe improper behavior or damage in the facilities, or contact the Bluffton Police Department at 260-824-3320.  Please report maintenance concerns to 260-824-6069 (if after hours, leave a voicemail).
  • Any person who misuses the City Gym facilities or equipment, engages in misconduct on or about the facilities, or engages in conduct disruptive to programs being held at the facilities, whether or not in connection with an event sponsored by the Parks Department, shall be subject to having their City Gym privileges revoked at the sole discretion of the Superintendent of the Bluffton Parks Department.
